Our School

St. Charles Garnier Catholic Elementary School has been serving the Richmond Hill community since 1975. We strive to live by the virtues, work towards academic excellence, and emphasize positive mental health and well being while pursuing the Catholic Graduate Expectations.

Our Catholic School Council is a vibrant group of parent volunteers who organize many community engagement events throughout the year and support various fundraising initiatives which allow us to provide a wide variety of opportunities for our students. Our CSC and parent volunteers are an integral part of our school community.

We are a Kindergarten to Grade 8 school that hosts the Program for Academic and Creative Extensions (PACE) for students with a gifted identification. As part of the YCDSB, our learning model is inclusive of all learners using a range of supports.

At SCG, each student learns in a faith-filled, Christ-centred learning environment providing a solid base for achieving their academic, spiritual and social potential. As strong proponents of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion at the York Catholic District School Board we believe that every child has the right to be taught in a safe, caring and inclusive environment.

The school community at St. Charles Garnier is proud to be known as the home of the Gators! Students can enjoy a variety of sports and clubs such as volleyball, basketball, cross country, track and field, choir, chess club and much, much more.

It is an honour and a privilege to be the Principal of St. Charles Garnier Catholic Elementary School.

Yours in Catholic Education,
Diana Di Vincenzo, Principal
