In partnership with York Region Public Health, our school will be participating in this year’s annual Pause to PLAY challenge running from April 30 to May 4, 2018. Students are encouraged to put their TV’s, gaming devices, tablets, cell phones, and computers on pause for one full week and become more physically active through play. Our students will be participating in a school-wide DPA activity during the challenge. Parents are also encouraged to participate with their children at home. A tracking sheet for home use is available under the parent tab; Letters and Forms.
The Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines recommends that children aged 5–17 should participate in at least 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous-intensity physical activity each day. Being active helps children improve their health, do better in school, improves fitness, builds social skills and improves self-confidence. So Let’s put down the screens and Get Active!
